An elegant blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon with aromas of citrus, gooseberries and nettles with subtle elegant toasted oak. On the pallet, well defined flavours of citrus, passionfruit and gooseberry accentured by minerals and elegant well integrated oak, refreshing acidity and body with a long lingering finish.
Château Lesparre with heritage from 1868 was acquired by the Gonet family in 1986, and from a lineage of Champagne wine producers dating back to 1802, Charles-Henri Gonet represents the first generation to have settled in the Bordeaux area. Drawn to this region, Charles-Henri initially took over the management of Château Lesparre in Beychac and Caillau, an estate he still runs as owner-winegrower with his brother Frédéric, using the services of Monsieur Facorellis, oenologist and Monsieur Pernet, vineyard manager.
Located halfway between Bordeaux and Saint-Emilion, Chateau Lesparre currently covers 180 hectares spread over the municipalities of Caillau and Vayres. The mild climate of the region, sunshine and summer heat tempered by the proximity to the Garonne and Dordogne rivers, allow to obtain perfect maturity of the grapes. The red wines are produced from Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The whites from Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc. Harvesting is carried out partly by hand and vinified in stainless steel tanks thermo-regulated respecting both tradition and the most modern techniques. The wines are matured in french oak barriques, bringing more elegance, structure and complexity.
